As a REALTOR® in the Central Kentucky Market, I'm in and out of a variety of different homes everyday.  I understand the importance of a clean and well-maintained space.

Here are ten easy things you can do when Spring Cleaning to freshen up your home:

1. Declutter: Start by getting rid of any unnecessary items or clutter that has accumulated over time. Donate or sell items that you no longer need or use.

2. Deep clean the floors: Vacuum and mop all the floors in your home, paying special attention to corners and hard-to-reach areas. Consider renting a carpet cleaner for a thorough carpet cleaning.

3. Dust and wipe surfaces: Dust all surfaces, including shelves, countertops, tables, and cabinets. Use a damp cloth or a gentle cleaner to wipe away dirt and grime.

4. Clean windows and mirrors: Give your windows and mirrors a good cleaning. Use a glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to remove any streaks or smudges.

5. Refresh bedding and linens: Wash and change the bedding, including sheets, pillowcases, and duvet covers. Launder or dry clean curtains, drapes, and other linens.

6. Organize closets and cabinets: Sort through your closets and cabinets, organizing items and discarding anything you no longer need. Consider using storage bins or organizers to maximize space.

7. Clean kitchen appliances: Deep clean your kitchen appliances, such as the oven, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Remove any built-up grease or food particles.

8. Scrub bathroom fixtures: Clean and disinfect your bathroom fixtures, including the toilet, sink, bathtub, and shower. Use a bathroom cleaner or a mixture of vinegar and water.

9. Freshen up the air: Open windows to let fresh air circulate throughout your home. Consider using air fresheners or diffusers with essential oils to add a pleasant scent.

10. Maintain outdoor areas: Spring cleaning isn't just limited to the interior of your home. Sweep porches, decks, and patios, and clean outdoor furniture. Trim bushes and hedges and tidy up your garden. Take it one step further and pressure wash your walkways, driveways and the exterior surfaces of your home.

By following these ten easy steps, you can give your home a thorough spring cleaning and create a fresh and inviting space for yourself and potential buyers.
